Ryan Reynolds cast doubt on a “Free Guy” sequel during an appearance in the UK on Saturday.
Headlining the ‘Just for Laughs’ comedy festival at London’s O2 Arena, Reynolds was having a conversation with himself. Deadpool 2 castmate Rob Delaney who asked if Reynolds plans to make sequels to any of the films he’s produced, including “Free Guy.”
Reynolds replied, “There’s a potential for a ‘Free Guy’ sequel, which would be fun.” “I’d love it. But also love, does everything have to be a sequel? I don’t know. Sometimes it’s okay to just do a movie and kick it’s ass and then everybody goes home.”
“So you know, there’s a little bit of push and pull, resisting the urge to immediately say, ‘Oh, doing a sequel will validate the first one,'” Reynolds continued. “No, the first movie validates the first movie and then you can leave it at that. So I don’t know, we’re still talking about it.
In addition to being an actor, Reynolds is a producer, screenwriter and entrepreneur, building brands such as Aviation American Gin, Mint Mobile and Maximum Effort, a film production company and digital marketing agency. Reynolds is best known for his comedic acting, particularly as the star of the superhero franchise Deadpool.
