Luther Creator Neil Cross sniped at it James Bond In a spy movie
During an interview with Radio Times magazine, the detective show’s creator and the film’s writer, Neil Cross, called it “an extended middle finger and a wink” where the lead star refused Bond’s favorite cocktail, the martini, in the film. While sarcastically said that Luther is better.
The 50-year-old replied, asked if it was for a Bond audition, “Oh my God, no! I’ve been saying for years, no!” before adding, “The martini line is a bit cheeky, isn’t it? I was like, ‘Neil, do you really want to put that on?'”
On the possibility of Luthor being the best of Bond, Elba replied, “Not better, no, Luthor is just as charming, just as sexy, and visually stunning. But Bond is from a universe where Spying was the way to catch. Luther is from this world where you knock on the door, ‘Are you there? I’m coming in.’
“I think Luthor fits a little more with a modern-day bad guy than someone with a world takeover style.”
